An Easter Visit

The bustle and warmth
of visiting family
faded as their cars
left town.
I turned to my routines
in my empty home
to entrain back with daily life.
The next morning,
the world was white
with an April snowfall.
The landscape seemed to say,
“I’ll nestle you in,
as you prepare for spring’s expansion.”
It whispered, “You’ll have
the strength you need.”
